The Ancient Language of Love

With Valentines Day around the corner, I was thinking about  the association of love and jewellery as it seems to have always been so strongly connected.

Love is an emotion ever present in our lives and the giving of jewellery  remains an important way of expressing and celebrating our love.

As far back as the Ancient Egyptians, Greeks and Romans gifts of gold and gemstones were seen as a romantic gesture of love, often called “love tokens”. It moves me to know that our jewellery will be passed on as an expression of love, giving pleasure time and time again, a reminder of the sentiment with which it was given.

The ancient stones of Labradorite, Aquamarine or Smokey Quartz formed in the ground centenaries ago, shaped and polished, set in gold or silver may be admired, loved and enjoyed for years to come.

It doesn’t need to be Valentines Day to celebrate our love but maybe it just makes us stop for a moment and focus on love.

NEW in this week, the Sally necklace is a perfect piece for layering or wearing as a single necklace. This delicate 18crt gold plated silver necklace has attractive tiny ball detailings and from hangs a beautiful bird and green onxy drop.

The Minnie gold plated sterling silver earring is set with one our favourite stones, labradorite.

Labradorite is a stone with a colour range of grey, blue, green sometimes all in one stone. This means it can work with so many colours in your wardrobe.

Olivia is a statement earring of style! A teardrop shaped Labradorite stone forms the stud earring from which hangs a gorgeous organic shaped gold metal drop. It has been created from gold plated brass.

Thea Gold Bangle

Thea in 24crt gold plated silver is versatile and stylish.  The bangle has a facetted smokey quartz bead.
