The 5 Must-Have Items you need to have a stylish Summer!

Confidence will always be key but why not add a little bit of sparkle to your everyday look

This season, it’s all about being BOLD and DARING at Timeless and Trend. We’ve embraced summer with open arms and have been enjoying all the little fun freedoms we now have in life.

High on our list are gorgeous moonlit dinners with our closest girlfriends, picnics in the park with our nearest and dearest, and let’s not forget the mini weekend’s away up or down the coast. While we’re excited to be out again, what got us through the beginning of this year's summer glow, ( let’s hope there is more on the way) was our perfectly curated MUST-HAVE pieces. This perfect list, consisting of our very own tried and tested must-haves, made that elusive task of getting dressed in the morning, noon or night, such a breeze. So no matter where you’re off to, take a seat, and add these five key items to your rotation, for an endless summer wardrobe.

The Micro-Statement Necklace

This season more is less, and for your decolletage, this is certainly the case. Delicate yet intricate necklaces will be a hit, with tiny statement pendants and seaworthy coral details being the option to own. Just think, the micro, the better and if you were daring enough, which I know you are, think about layering them for the perfect holiday vibe, just don’t forget to pack them in your suitcase. These pieces will lift any casual tee and add an elegant touch to a classic wrap dress. ( More on the wrap dress further down).

The Wrap Dress

Made famous by Diane Von Furstenberg in the ’70s. This timeless and versatile piece has made a huge comeback this season, thus making it the perfect go-to item to wear, no matter what you have planned. We recommend going for statement wraps, in soft silks and stand out prints. No matter the sleeve length, yes you can go short or long, the dress will make the perfect plus one for layering over a bikini, sit elegantly while strolling around an art gallery and most importantly it will hold you in and add curves in all the right places.

Chic Earrings

From the timeless style of Sophia Loren to the edgy yet chic Tracee Ellis Ross, a pair of statement earrings are a must to complete any look this summer. By adding a pair of opulent and neutral tone earrings to a classic look, you’ll be reminiscent not only of the style queens mentioned above but you’ll be channelling designers like Alberta Ferretti and Proenza Schuler who sent maven after maven down the catwalk adorned in tonal designs. Pair these pieces on the beach with luscious linens and soft silks.

The Barely There Sandal

Is there nothing more that screams British Summer than Sunshine and Fizz? Ok, maybe there are a few more options, but regardless, this year the Timeless and Trend team will be contesting that statement with the introduction of the barely-there sandal, as a soon-to-be summer staple. Yes, you’re currently ahead of the trends, so jump on this quickly. The strappy sandal is a piece that will last the test of fashion time, and most importantly it’s so versatile. It comes in an array of shapes, colours and heel heights, so everybody can have a pair just for them. Not so sure? Style an all-black pair with a wrap dress for easing into this look.

The Earthy Bangle

If you’ve kept up to date with The Style Edit at Timeless and Trend you would know one of the key trends this season is the bangle stack. So in the spirit of this season's must-haves, and of course staying ahead of the curve, the bangle to adore your wrist this season is of earthy tones. Made from either marble delights or chunky wooden designs with gold tips, an assortment of these on your wrist will have you looking like a street style star in seconds. With the modern utility trend carrying on from Spring to Summer, these accessories are just the right touch and like Michael Kors SS/21 runway, pair with white tunics and high waisted tailored shorts in khaki greens.
